Introduction
My name is Lynda Durham and I am a professional artist who specializes in portraits and decorative arts. I was trained at the Arts Center College of Design in Pasadena and obtained a BA in Editorial Illustration. My start was in animation; however, my interest lead me into the world of decorative art/interior artistry where I was able to sharpen my skills in painted finishes, murals, and trompe l’oeil.
For more than 15 years I served the artistic needs of several well established and reputable interior decorators and renovation contractors in elite communities in California such as:
- Beverly Hills
- Belair
- Malibu
- Hollywood
During this time, my art garnered the attention of well-known celebrity clients such as:
- Tom Cruise
- Barbra Streisand
- Merv Griffith
After moving to Northern Virginia I have continued painting for high profile individuals including James Carville and Mary Matalin. Additionally, my work has been featured in Architectural Digest.
Portraits
These high end, one of a kind portraits of people and pets (dogs, cats, and horses) are based on photographs provided by my clients. Life like and full of personality, these portraits bring cherished memories to life.
Decorative Arts
I also specialize in decorative arts such as:

- Trompe L'oeil - realistic paintings that trick the eye
- Textures - seamlessly continuing a texture such as wood and marble
